MYTH: Circumcision makes a baby boy easier to clean.
Fact: It takes considerable care and effort to clean and care for a circumcision wound; much more effort than it takes to clean and care for an intact baby. Intact care: a simple wipe or rinse of the outside of the penis, like you would a finger. The child is not retractable until age range of 2-13.
MYTH: Healing from a circumcision is painless.
Fact: The circumcision wound is extremely tender and sore
and the baby will experience burning pain with every urination.
