The testimonials on this blog are from real people who (mostly) come from the USA. This blog serves to document common circumcision complications and the prevailing ignorance surrounding this archaic practice. Singly, reports of circumcision harm are dismissed as anecdotal. Collectively, these reports are proof that circumcision damages boys and the men they become. "Intelligence is being able to learn from your mistakes; Wisdom is being able to learn from the mistakes of others."

"So my big boy slept through (it)" Vanesha from Georgia
Reality check: Not possible without total anesthesia, which is not available. Even the dorsal penile nerve block leaves the underside of the penis receptive to pain. Babies go into shock, which though it looks like a quiet state, is actually the body’s reaction to profound pain and distress. Nurses often tell the parents ”He slept right through it” so as not to upset them. Who would want to hear that his or her baby was screaming in agony and then went into shock?

2011 AAP policy statement vs 2014 policy statement
The AAP has since revised their 2011 stance (above) due to the fact that insurance companies stopped covering the procedure. AAP physicians started losing a lot of money. The new statement is designed to make sure the insurance companies keep covering it.
AAP current policy statement says: "the health benefits of newborn male circumcision outweigh the risks and that the procedure’s benefits justify access to this procedure for families who choose it." The AAP stops short of making a full recommendation of the the procedure for all boys.
Another exerpt from AAP website:
8/27/2012
"After a comprehensive review of the scientific evidence, the American Academy of Pediatrics found the health benefits of newborn male circumcision outweigh the risks, but the benefits are not great enough to recommend universal newborn circumcision. The AAP policy statement published Monday, August 27, says the final decision should still be left to parents to make in the context of their religious, ethical and cultural beliefs."

Bridgette from Florida
A stitch tunnel or a suture tunnel is a common complication of circumcision in which "tunnels" of skin remain from the sutures.
The assault we ignore
It is estimated that between 100-600 baby boys (in the USA) die each year due to hemorrhaging from unnecessary circumcision.

Diane
Assisting a madman who probes and cuts a helpless child's genitals is not "awesome". Helping this monster while he inserts a ring around the head of the child's penis and ties a ligature around it, in order to cut off the circulation so that the remaining skin rots off, is also not "awesome". Dear Diane, you have a very twisted idea of what a good time is. Seek professional help asap.

WARNING TO PARENTS: FORESKIN RETRACTION OF INTACT BOYS — AN EPIDEMIC
Forced retraction is the naive or deliberate attempt to
prematurely retract a child before the child's penis is ready for it.
Retraction happens at different times for different boys.
Forcing retraction leads to the infections, adhessions, and
scarring for which a doctor will then recommend circumcision
as the solution.
"They cause it, they fix it, ingenious, huh?" -BK

$480 for 15 minutes of "work". No wonder the American Academy of Pediatrics /AAP wants you to buy what they are selling (a load of BS)!
