"Arlene" from Alabama

I have been told by several adults (including my own mother) that when they were catheterized as children, they felt as if they were raped. It was THAT traumatic. Always insist on the "clean-catch" method from healthcare workers who need a urine sample. Don't let them bully you into catheterizing! Poor baby, so many unnecessary interventions and traumas at such a tender age. :(
